also provides a ceremonies service, offering humanist namings,
weddings and funerals, but its pastoral care/chaplaincy services are
currently underdeveloped. Pastoral care in Ireland is usually provided
by religious personnel, and the HAI is interested to determine if
there is a need for an alternative for non-religious people, and to
consider proposals and recommendations for the delivery of a pastoral
care service by the HAI.
